Using Craigslist For Fast Real Estate Results
My friend put an ad in the Los Angeles
Craigslist.com offering his handyman services to the public. In one day he
filled a summer's worth of work.
My wife put an ad on Craigslist in Chicago and sold
5 separate beds she had stored in the attic in three days.
The stories of people succussfully advertising their products on Craigslist are
countless. So, why not use Craigslist to help you buy, sell or rent real estate?
First, remember that you can post in most of the US major cities. In fact, it is
against the terms of service to post in different cities at the same time.
1. Landlords can find people who want to rent in the apts/housing section in
their own city.
2. Selling your home is made much easier to do without a real estate agent.
Craigslist has a specific section for "Real Estate for sale" that
makes life easy for just about any type of real estate. Today, for example, I
found "$399000 SMALL MARINA FOR SALE (brentwood / oakley)". You
can email the person who posted the ad. The listing shows the date and time of
day it was posted as well.
Selling expensive properties is also possible at
Craigslist. Here is just one out of many I found today listed at over
$1,000,000: "$1220000 Hute 3-bedroom unit (SOMA/south beach)
Other real estate categories include Apartments, housing rooms, shared sublets,
temporary housing wanted, housing swap, vacation rentals, parking, storage office.
commercial.
3. If you need someone to do some labor work on your house, office or apartment
Craigslist is a great way to find it. Use the "employment" section for
that purpose.
4. Use the list for selling your excess items
before you move. Advertise your yard sale too.
5. Of course, buying a home using the list works as
well as selling it out of the "real estate for sale" section.
Give Craigslist a chance. You will be happy you
did.
